July 2007 Diary

10.07.07
Met with P at HG hospital. Not sure how professional they are - but they are willing. Not clear they have a real PR strategy - but I guess word of mouth is what will help my potential practice. Given a 3-5pm slot. Not very child friendly. Looks like phlebotomy will be difficult. Wonder whet he that will be a turn off for the mums.

Spent most of the day writing first blog entry. Really very difficult. Hope I won't regret it!

Seats on the treadmill express - presumably it's because of the school holidays. We all stand there as sardines, usually avoiding gazing at each other's armpits. A woman with a beautiful face really looked at me - before placing her armpit 2 inches from my nose. Stature would help.

A PP has telphone N in H St - wanting to know whether I see pps. I saw them in March. I think word of mouth will work - though am not sure if they will be OK with N London.

Lecture from some self appointed fluid guru for manchseter - I suppose I will be barking up the wrong alley way as usual.

Yesterdays' lecture was some one I knew - and he didn't like being challenged. This is not the response of a real intellectual. Still that is the way medicine is going.

Spoke with dad - mum fell again in the bathroom. Hence the need to go next week to the OTs. Not sure how he will cope with having builders in to redo the bathroom But i guess he is coming round to it.

K asked me to see the child of a friend. Although s/he should be seen in GP clinic - D is doing - and she turned her nose up. I wonder where I sit in the pecking order - as far as our staff are concerned.

A HS PP rang - asking to see me again!. I will probably have to ask JS re using his HS practice -a s not signed up with AXA etc.

APC Overnight - left a delivery card - asking me to telephone their depot to order a new drop off - but no number on card (Dumb Britain!). No in fact the chap on the end of the telephone said delivered to 148 VR - so why wasn't that written on my card. I guess we are all getting more illiterate

Had a 17 yaer old, who is thinking of doing medicine. Her father is a psychiatrist at Barts. I told her not to do medicine - was that the correct thing to do? Told her to go to Harvard.

Just got an email - the Canadians are asking for 5 more nights in the house. Should be fun - wonder whether we can go further! Dream on...

New business cards picked up from 148 VR. She's a bit odd - seems to lock herself in the house. Still - cards look pretty good. Nice feel with a mat laminate. Font looks wonderfully understated.

Picked up book from 171 - they will be moving next week. Young family moving in - i wonder what they do!
